COORDINATOR, CCOUNTABILITY

Reports to:

Superintendent/Principals

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Coordinates and monitors education reform and accountability activities relative to the System’s strategic plan.  Assists with the overall accountability program for the LWCS System.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

Coordinates and monitors activities in relation to education reform and accountability.  Approves school level school improvement plans and provides technical assistance to schools as necessary.  Monitors school improvement plans in relation to the system’s strategic plan and prepares reports that reflect individual school progress.  Meets with School Advisory Committees as needed to provide assistance with the school improvement plan development with special emphasis on the evaluation component.  Provides training to School Advisory Committees and others regarding system accountability, the school improvement process and other related topics.  Administers the Florida School Recognition Program for the system.  Monitors SAC minutes related to the disbursement of A+ funds.  Coordinates and monitors the standards, policies and procedures as related to the accreditation of high and middle schools.  Coordinates the development and dissemination of information contained in the School Advisory Council report.  Prepares adequate yearly progress reports and other accountability requirements pursuant to “No Child Left Behind” legislation.  Performs related work as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge, Ability and Skills:

 

Demonstrate knowledge of the school improvement process and how it relates to federal and state statutes.  Thorough understanding of the system’s strategic plan, the Florida School Recognition Program, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation process, Amendment 9, and No Child Left Behind.  Demonstrate extensive knowledge of curriculum and evaluation designs and demonstrate effective use of technical writing skills.  Demonstrate knowledge of school accountability terminology and best practices.

 

 

 

Training and Experience:

 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in educational leadership or related fields.  Training or coursework related to school accountability practices, planning, research, data analysis and organizational effectiveness.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
