Haines City football game moves to Legion Field on Friday

Aug 30th, 2010

LAKE WALES – Friday night’s Lake Wales – Haines City football game has been relocated to Lake Wales High’s Legion Field.

Haines City High’s stadium has new turf, which isn’t ready to safely accommodate high school athletes and four quarters of football. The grass needs more time to grow.

Instead, LWHS agreed to host the game at Legion Field, although Haines City will be considered the “home” team.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 3). All tickets sold will be $5 per person. No reserved seats will be sold.

“Since this is a Haines City home game, we will follow their pricing schedule,” said LWHS Principal Clark Berry.
