LAKE WALES – Janie Howard Wilson Elementary fifth grade students were mesmerized by concert pianist Thomas Pandolfi (pictured, center), who performed today (Jan. 30) at the Lake Wales Arts Center.
Students were treated to the free concert as part of the Lake Wales Arts Council’s education outreach program. Pandolfi played pieces by Chopin, Gershwin and Joplin. He also talked about his studies at the Julliard School of Music and his world travels.
“These experiences help shape our students into well-rounded, contributing young people in our community,” said Micky Caban, music teacher at Janie Howard Wilson.




LAKE WALES – Bok Academy and Lake Wales High musicians got a special treat today (Feb. 21) when they participated in a Master Class with three members of the Pro Arte Quartet from the University of Wisconsin.
LAKE WALES – Pulitzer Prize-winning author David McCullough told a library full of Lake Wales High students today (Feb. 16) that “curiosity is what separates us from the cabbages.” The prize-winning story teller encouraged his audience of about 100 history students to ask questions, and look for lessons in history to show them how to become leaders.
LAKE WALES – Teachers of the Year and Support Employees of the Year are being honored by schools in the Lake Wales Charter School system.
